2024 Fall Soccer Program Information- All ages Pre K thru 8th Grade Rec AND Select

IMPORTANT Information for all levels of soccer below

Registration for the Fall 2024 Season is now Open

The following registration is for all levels of Soccer: Pre K, Kindergarten, 1-2nd Grade and 3rd - 8th Grade.  Below you will find information relevant for both Recreational (Rec) and Select

 

Last year we had over 1,000 players in the FALL.  Below is a detailed overview of the program.   PLEASE be sure to review your child's age group in detail before moving forward:  

 

  • WE NEED VOLUNTEER COACHES. This is a huge program that requires a lot of coaches to make it work.  We will only roster teams with 2-3 coaches per team of approximately 10-18 players  depending on grade. If we do not have enough coaches, we will need to process refunds until we are able to get to an acceptable player/coach ratio per level.   If you are not that familiar with running a practice session or a game as a coach we will provide resources to help you. You will not be alone. 

  • Recreation Soccer – All levels--everyone who signs up is placed on a team and plays. Assuming enough coaches.

  • Select Soccer – More competitive teams are made up of players following a try out. For 2016 Birth Year and older, and all players must attend at least one try out with their birth year players to make a team. More details are available on the All-Sports Soccer web page.  

  • All players MUST play Recreation Soccer – details about dates and times for practices are below. The only players that can play Select that are not signed up for Recreation are those that are on an out of town Club soccer team that does not play in the Northern Counties Soccer League. This means Select Players MUST play Recreation Soccer and Select or be on a Club Team, and a Select team.  Select Players must play in Rec Games and are encouraged to attend as many practices as they can, but the priority is attending games. The Rec games will not conflict with Select games. If they fail to attend Rec games, it will impact their ability to play in their select games.

  • When registering your child, please remember that you need to base registration on the grade your child will entering as of September 2024  All levels are grade specific and this is VERY important.

  • Registration for our Stars Special Needs Program will be Distributed later in August.

 

Requirements for the Season for all levels:  Must be resident of Fair Lawn to register.

 

Registration windows, fees and discounts: 

Registration fees have been REDUCED from 2023 

for ALL levels between Kindergarten thru 8th Grade ! ! ! ! 

  • Pre K Program: $100 per player open through: Tuesday 8/27
  • Kindergarten Program: $85 per player open through:  Saturday  9/7/24
  • 1st & 2nd Grade Program: $85 per player open through:  Saturday 9/7/24
  • 3rd – 8th Grade  open through 5/15/24 - FULL PRICE of $120
    • Incentives to register early to help with team registrations in the league.
      • Register by 4/27 - $110 - $10 discount.
      • Register between 4/28 - 5/4 - $115 - $5 discount
      • Registration between 5/5 – 5/10 - $120
      • Registration CLOSES on 5/10 for 3-8th.  No Late Registrations Accepted! ! ! 

There is a $20 late fee at ALL LEVELS (not included in family discount) for any registrations may be accepted after deadlines above.  ONLY if additional registrations are able to be accommodated based on player/coach ratios.

 

Maximum registration per family $300 - To be able to receive the discount all registrations MUST be completed in the same session.  There is a link to register another person before processing payment.  Please register your family at the eligible rates when you register and then email flassoccer@gmail.com and we will process a refund down to $300 max.   

 

Pre-K Program: 

  • This program is for children between the ages of 3 and 5 as of September 1st 2024 AND NOT entering Kindergarten.  No exceptions!
  • Program will be Sunday mornings between 9-10am from September 8th - November 3rd
  • Registration fee includes, coach and team equipment, trainers to assist coaches and team shirt to be kept at the end of the season.
  • This is NOT A DROP OFF EVENT! Due to the young age of our participants, someone MUST be available at the field for the duration of EVERY session. 

 

Kindergarten Program:

  • This program is for children entering Kindergarten for September 2024.
  • Program is held on Saturday’s between 1:30 - 3PM starting on Sept 14th running thru approx. November 9th.
  • The sessions will include skill development through playing small games followed by 4v4 games between the various teams.  
  • Registration fee includes coach and team equipment, trainers for several weeks to assist coaches and team shirt to be kept at the end of the season
  • This is NOT A DROP OFF EVENT! Due to the young age of our participants, someone MUST be available at the field for the duration of EVERY session. 

 

1st and 2nd Grade:

  • Program is combined for playersd entering both 1st and 2nd grade on all teams.
  • Boys will play 9-10:30 on Saturdays and the Girls will play 11 - 12:30 on Saturdays starting Sept 14th.
  • The sessions will include skill development through playing small games followed by 4v4 games between the various teams.

3rd thru 8th Grade: 

  • Program is broken for players entering the following: 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th
  • The teams will participate in Northwest Bergen Soccer Association with teams from towns in the general northwest Bergen County area.
  • There is a 10-game season typically starting on the weekend after Labor Day and running into mid-November.
  • Team Selection is done via an open draft of all the players that are registered.  We are unable to honor team or coach requests! 
    • Coaches participate in a league sanctioned draft of the player pools late May before submitting to the league in June. 
    • Coaches can request at time of registration to coach with others they have in the past.
  • Practices: Boys will be Monday and Wednesday.  Girls will be on Tuesday and Thursday.
    • Grades 3 - 6th: All practices will be in the evening, typically with one session starting at 6 and the other day starting at 7:15pm.
    • Grades 7 & 8: All practices will be in the evening between 8:30 - 9:45
  • Boys will play games on Sunday afternoons at either 1 or 3pm. Girls will be play on Saturday mornings at either 9 or 11 am. There may be occasions when these times vary somewhat.  
  • Fee includes league fees, referee fees, team and coach equipment, player jerseys, shorts and socks which are yours to keep at the end of the season. PLEASE plan accordingly size wise as the uniforms tend to run small.

Select Soccer:

  • ALL Select players MUST play Rec. inorder to participate in the Select Program! Only exception is if a player is also playing with an out of town club soccer team that does not play in Northern Counties, those players will not be required to play Rec. 
  • Select Soccer is a higher level of competition than Rec soccer and teams are based on player Birth Year. (rather than grade) and this includes primarily 3rd-8th grade levels. 
  • Communications around Tryouts will be sent out separately very soon.
  • There are additional fees that come with playing Select Soccer in addition to the Rec Registration fee.  

There is a separate page that follows which will allow you to sign up to coach your child at 1 or more levels.

 

This registration will allow you to complete all the required information and submit payment which is required at time of registration.  All registrations are final and no refunds are available for cancellations
